The Prologue

I was in a daze.

There they are. All of them. There they all are, doing what they do best. Cheering for you, shouting your name, and waving their arms wildly so that you will go out and sing for them once again. Their shouts are nothing but echoes sounding in my ears. The intense lights streamed through the backstage where we stood, my eyes slid shut as I tried to look back at you clearly. Looking at you, I became drunk with love.

You did not move. You did not answer them. You did not want to move, I could see that. Instead you kept where you were. Your eyes penetrated me, searching for some kind of answer. I continued to stare in a daze as you waited, wondering if I had really heard what I just heard.

The lights flashed shadows upon our faces, the shouts growing louder and louder for each sencond that passed. My heart beated fast. My mouth was hanging open, knowing what it wanted to say, yet no sound came out of it. The pounding in my chest suddenly increased. I clutched the star necklace you gave me from so long ago as I stared dumbfounded at you.

You chuckled. Moving in towards me, I felt your lips peck my forehead sweetly. You smiled down at me for a few more seconds, my hands clutching your arms as I tried to tell you with my eyes what my answer was. Your manager came though, breaking us apart and whisking you off to do your encore. To finish your tour. To complete your largest, most packed jam concert.

I watched as you disappeared into the brightly lit staged.

Hello this is shoustar's friend Rachel.  A few minutes ago shoustar's computer got the blue screen of death and died.  She wants everyone to know that she is working on getting it fixed and will let everyone know more when she has access to a computer as he iPod won't open LJ.  She would like everyone to know that chapter 18 of Blue Butterfly is back from the beta on her email and either she or the beta will post it soon.  Chapter 19 was nearly ready for the beta when the computer died so she is unsure if she can recover it but she is going to try.  If not the chapter will be rewritten and up as soon as possible.  That's all for now shoustar will let you know more when she can.

Hey readers!

Just wanted to let you know that Chapter 17 of Blue Butterfly is currently being beta'd by my friend. She's busy with homework and studying for her finals next week so I don't know how long it will take. I don't want to rush her though, so just please be patient, ne?

I worked a bit on Chapter 18 on the plane to the MUCC concert (which was awesome, btw) but I'm totally thinking of editing a lot. I think there is way too much dialogue in one part, and then I don't like how I made the conversation in this one part. >_<;;

I'm very picky...and sometimes I don't even realize how bad something is too, which is why I have wonderful beta people~ <3 Even though I tend to catch lots of mistakes and such, I'm thankful to have others catch the ones I miss. Also, I like many people to read it before I put it up publicly because I like to know how it flows. I really hope it flows nicely. >_<;;

Anyway! When I was on the plane to come back home, I realized that Christmas is coming by faster and faster. So, I wondered, "Should I do a side one shot for Christmas?" And I really want to with this same story. But then I realized, in the story, we're still in...July ne? Since it's Shou's birthday coming up in it. So that doesn't work.

But I really DO want to do a Christmas one-shot. Like badly. What do you guys think?

Should I just make a one-shot that doesn't relate to this fic? Or should I be like "Yes, side story to the fic but...in the future..."? XD Well, we'll see how it goes. I might just end up doing an non-AU one-shot. Heehee. *rolls* Okay, I think I'm done now. I have to go get ready for work. It's going to be long and brutal, lol. Keep an eye out here, Chapter 17 will make its appearance asap! =)

Thanks for reading,

~ [info]shoustar

Saga was in distress. When Tora told him the news about his mother all he could think about was getting to her. He had ran a great deal towards the hospital when Tora had finally caught up to him in his car. Tora ushered the boy to get inside, shouting at him through the window. When Tora managed to persuade the boy, Saga was inside the car and immediately went for his phone to dial his father’s number. He groaned in frustration when no one picked up.

Tora had stayed silent. He knew if he even tried to utter a word he’d be yelled at. Tora did have an idea how the boy was feeling though. Not wanting to recall those memories he pushed them away before they got close. He concentrated on getting Saga to the hospital. That was all that mattered at the moment.

They arrived at the hospital in about ten minutes. Tora found a parking spot and cut the engine to his car. He was about to get out of the vehicle when he felt something on his hand suddenly. Tora looked down to see Saga’s hand on his own.

Tora looked up at the younger boy slowly. He could see fear and anguish in Saga’s eyes. He knew the boy was scared and all he could do was stare back and offer an expression of comfort. He turned to fully face the other, looking down upon him. He squeezed Saga’s hand gently to reassure him everything would be all right. But truthfully, he had no idea if it would be or not.

They eventually removed themselves from the car. Tora stayed near Saga, not wanting him to just take off out of nowhere. They made their way to the main desk, asking the woman where a Sakamoto-san was. She looked up the last name and luckily Saga’s mother was the only patient with that last name in the hospital. The woman told them the room and they thanked her before looking for a directory.

The two found out it was on the second floor and so looked for an elevator to go up. Once they found the right room Saga knocked lightly on the door before walking into the room. A head turned and Saga came face to face with his father. The father and son exchanged a small embrace before they looked towards the woman lying on the bed. Saga felt tears brimming his eyes but refused to let them fall. He did not want to show how weak he was.

“How is she?” Saga asked as he moved to his mother’s bedside.

“According to the doctor she’s going to be fine,” the elder man stated.

Saga looked down at his mother who had her eyes closed. Her breathing was slow and relaxed. He could tell she was tired though. The cause of this was probably due to exhaustion. Tora stayed near the entrance but watched the small family. He was unsure of what to say or do in this situation. In his eyes, Saga was crushed. His heart was hoping so much that his mother would be okay.

‘NO! Kaa-san! Please be okay!’ A 10 year old boy cried out loud.

Tora shook his thoughts away before turning to leave the room. Once he was in the hallway he found the closest bench and sat in it quickly. He grabbed his head and began to massage his temples.

That day…it kept coming back to his mind. He did not want to remember it. All these years he had tried to avoid it. But for some reason—looking at Saga’s solemn expression triggered it all to come back. Tora shook his head, eyes closed, as he tried to will the memory away, ‘Just think about the good times…’

But that did not work. Piece by piece they all flooded into his mind; flashes of the car lights, kids laughing, people shouting, …a boy crying. It all rushed to him until he could not take it anymore.

And then there was darkness.

--*--

A young boy of the age of ten sat in his room playing his game for probably the third time that day. His hazel eyes were glued to the screen as his fingers gracefully moved over the game controller as if he were a pro. In fact, he probably could be considered one despite his young age.

Knock knock.

The boy sent daggers towards the door as if he’d be able to cease the knocking that way. There was another knock which the boy just ignored as well. Soon enough the knob was being turned and in walked a woman with exceptional beauty.

Her skin was a perfect tint of peach while her lips were light pink and pleasurable. Her hair was pure ebony; long and straight as it flowed beautifully behind her. Her eyes were a striking green but she definitely held a kind gaze in them.

“Shinji,” She began as she walked to her son.

The boy pouted as he just paid all his attention to his game. The boy and his mother always were able to get along. But because of the small rebel inside him, he sometimes took some things too seriously. This time it was over the 10 year olds worst enemy; pickled plums1.

He knew the only reason these things were created was to spite him; he was sure of it! The boy’s mother walked over to her son with a plate and cup in hand. She kneeled down beside her son before placing the plate down. The boy’s eyes moved over to the plate, his fingers instantly pausing his game as he did so. His face cringed as he stared down the pickled plums before him. The boy groaned and turned away as he refused to eat them.

The woman only smiled at her son’s behavior, “These are good for you. You need to have them once in awhile.”

At this point the boy was shaking his head from side to side. He hated anything pickled! Why couldn’t it just be plums by itself? Why pickled plums? No, he refused that defiance to go anywhere near his mouth.

“I’ll take you to the park,” and she had set the trap. All she had to do was lure her prey in. And she knew that would be easy enough.

The boy perked a bit, his ears liking what they heard. He slowly turned his head to look at his mother who had an innocent expression on her face. The boy glanced at the pickled plums and then back to his mother. Was it worth it?

“I will also buy you ice cream,” she added.

Well that had done it. The boy was sold with the park and a promised ice cream bar. He turned fully to face the rather imposing food. All he had to do was close his eyes and imagine it was a piece of chocolate or something.

The woman chuckled to herself as she watched her son slowly put a bit of the food into his mouth. It had taken him a few seconds, however, to actually close his mouth around the pickled plum. Many expressions were spread across the boy’s face; disgust, disbelief, sourness, and disdain. The boy finally managed to swallow the food after about thirty long seconds of chewing it.

Even though the food was now in his system, the nasty flavor still lingered on his tongue. The boy’s face was scrunched up as he chewed nothing, trying to will the taste away. The woman beside him offered her son some tea which he took willingly and sipped rather quickly. Once he was finished he released a long gasp, thanking no one in particular.

The boy’s mother patted her son’s head lovingly as she reached over to peck the boy’s forehead, “That’s my brave little tiger,”

After about ten minutes of getting the boy to calm down, he rushed down the stairs and to the car. Once he was in the back seat he put on his safety belt and waited for his mother to get in so they could hurry to the park. They arrived there in a matter of minutes and the boy just ran off without a word to his mother. The woman figured he was still a bit sore towards her because of what she made him do.

The boy climbed up bars, slide down slides, and swung on swings. Occasionally, he would glance over to his mother who would be conversing with other women. The dark haired boy eventually found himself in the sand as he used his finger to write out random words and names. His energy had drained but he did not want to leave. It was then someone caught his attention. In the corner of his eye he spotted a boy far off where the tall trees met the edge of the park.

He was crouched down and it seemed like he was crying but it was hard to tell. Being the curious boy he was, he walked to where the boy sat. As he grew closer he could hear the low sobs and knew his suspicions had been correct. The dark haired boy slowed down his steps and stood behind the honey haired boy. Biting his bottom lip he stared for a few moments before moving in front of the boy and finally getting the courage to say something.

“Are you okay?”

The boy before him froze. The dark haired boy wondered if he was out of line for asking. It was then the head before him lifted slowly. Hazel eyes met hazel. The dark haired boy was shocked though to see how tear-stained the younger one’s face was. He really had been crying a lot, it seemed.

The dark haired boy dug through his pockets before taking out his favorite white handkerchief. He held it out towards the boy before him. He felt that he needed it more than him anyways, since he was crying and all. The crying boy eyed him and then the handkerchief as he seemed unsure if he should take it or not.

“Go on, take it,” the dark haired boy insisted as he used his own hand to cover the other’s onto it.

This caused the tearful boy to jump a bit before he cautiously took it. Head now bent, he gently padded his own tears, but not really trying at the same time, “I…killed it.”

The dark haired boy tilted his head before looking down at their feet where a lifeless blue butterfly lay. The dark haired boy smiled softly before kneeling down and taking the dead creature into his cupped hands. He stood back up, looking down upon the hazel eyed boy who just stared with curiosity.

“I am sure you did not mean it…” the ebony haired boy stated. “To say you are sorry…why don’t we find someplace to bury him?”

The other boy’s tears were not drying, sticking to his face as he looked into the dark haired boy’s eyes. He wiped his face with his sleeve, a sniff escaping his nose, before he offered a nod. The dark haired boy walked off, signaling the other boy to follow. He did as he was told, following after like the obedient child he was.

They found a decent area with soft ground. It was at the roots of a large sakura tree so it was easy to remember. They went on their knees and the small boy began to dig, not caring that his hands were getting dirty. The honey-color haired boy then took the lifeless butterfly from the other boy’s hand, setting it gently into the small ditch he had created. He filled the ditch once again, padding it so it was hard and stern.

Clapping his dirty hands together, he closed his eyes and began a silent prayer. The older boy watched him intently as he took in the smaller one’s features. Once the other was done, the stranger could not help but smile, reaching a hand out to reach under the other’s chin. He lifted the small boy’s head slowly.

“You know…” He began. “You look like a butterfly.”

The small boy tilted his head in confusion, “I do?”

The dark haired boy nodded in response. It was then the dark haired boy heard his mother’s voice call out for him out of nowhere, causing the boy to respond with a pout. He smiled back at the boy, bowing his head a bit, “Gomen nasai! I have to go. I hope I see you here tomorrow!”

He had left so fast he did not realize he left something precious to him behind. The dark haired boy met up with his mother, arms crossed and nose stuck up in the air. The woman sighed but smiled as she walked after her son. Once they were in the car the woman looked in her rear view mirror and watched her son looking out the window.

“Time for that ice cream?” his mother questioned.

The boy’s hazel eyes glanced at his mother’s reflection. He offered a small smile before looking away again. The woman chuckled before backing out. Deciding it was would be easier taking another route she moved onto the freeway. The sun was beginning to set and its intense brightness painted colors into the sky above them.

It took about five minutes for them to arrive at the ice cream parlor. The boy was eager for the ice cream he just hoped out of the car the moment it stopped. He was about to fun off into the store when his mother called for him to stop. He did so, his eyes still on the parlor as he waited patiently. Once his mother was beside him he urged her to go faster.

“Shinji, the parlor is not going anywhere,” she informed the boy as she pushed him gently inside.

Once they were inside, the boy’s eyes looked around the store. Not too many people were here. It was mostly kids with their parents. But still, not too many of them. The woman smiled down at her son before walking to the counter. They made their orders before finding a lone table for just the two of them.

The boy sat across from his mother and began to eat his ice cream happily. The woman could only gaze at her son as she thanked the gods again for having him. The boy was stubborn and did have his rebellious attitude sometimes, but she knew deep down he was kind and gentle. There just had to be that push.

She swore she’d protect him. Not the way her husband was…always working and never being with family. No, she would not resolve to that. She would love him. She would hold him and caress him, telling him that she loved him. And she did very much so love him. Smiling again at her son she just moved forward to peck him on the nose.

“You, my little tiger, are growing up too fast,” she stated before finally consuming a bit of her ice cream.

Once the mother and son were done with their ice cream, they went back into the car. It was dark now so the boy would probably lie down so he would be able to fall asleep. The woman made sure her son was strapped in well before putting herself into the driver’s seat. She began driving and the dark haired boy only barely watched her form from behind.

His vision was becoming small creases because he was slowly drifting off to sleep. It had been ten minutes and he heard his mother saying something. He could not tell what though but it sounded like she was cursing someone. The car swerved causing the young boy to grumble a bit.

The car swerved again and the boy was getting annoyed. The woman’s words then became louder. There was panic in her tone but the small boy was too laden with sleep he could not tell what was wrong. The car swerved again, causing the boy fall sideways onto the car seat again. He tried to raise his body again but the swerves continued. He tried to balance himself, asking his mother what was wrong, but she did not answer.

She just kept speaking fast, her voice now filled with worry. It sounded like she was crying too. What was going on? The boy finally put together all his strength and sat up. Once he had accomplished that he lifted his head to look forward and all he could see was bright lights coming closer and closer and closer. There was a scream. A loud scream that he knew came from his mother. She kept screaming ‘No, no no!’ as she tried to gain control of her vehicle. And then…

CRASH

People’s voices. Sirens. Screaming. This was all he heard as the boy was finally able to regain consciousness. His eyes started to open but everything was one giant blur. He saw figures moving, bright lights blinding him, and people talking in a fast-paced manner.

“Sir! I think the boy is coming to!” he heard someone say. The person sounded like he was close too. Perhaps right next to him.

The young boy slowly turned his head, but made a sound of pain as he did so. The man stopped him, telling him he was injured. Injured? How was he injured? What happened? The boy was unsure but at any rate he did not like being around these strangers. Where was his mother? He wanted his mother.

“K-kaa-san…” he managed to let out, “Where is my mother?”

The boy did not know these people. He did not want to be with him. He turned his head in pain to the side, eyes closed as he took in what he felt. Slowly he opened his eyes again and then he saw her. She was lying in this stretcher like him. But her eyes were not open…why were her eyes not open? Was she sleeping?

The boy shot up instantly, ignoring the pain surging through him. He ignored the orders and shouts from the people around him as he fought through the arms trying to keep him away. While he did this he shouted for his mother, hoping she’d open her eyes if she heard him. Maybe that was why she kept her eyes closed…because she was scared and did not know these people as well.

When the small boy managed to free himself from the men’s grasp he ran straight for that stretcher. His eyes widened as then began to zip something around her; like putting her into a bag or something. Why were they doing that? She would not be able to breathe! How cruel! He ran to them pushing against them and stopping them. Only the woman’s face was seen and the boy stared down at his mother’s face.

The boy’s eyes were wide. There was blood. Lots of it by her head and around her face. The boy began to slowly shake the body, calling out to his mother.

"Kaa-san? Kaa-san!?” The boy called out, tears now falling down the boy’s face. “Kaa-san wake up…NO! Kaa-san! Please be okay!”

At this moment the boy was pulled away. He struggled long and hard, kicking and screaming as the men held him back. Meanwhile, the men zipped up the body and took it towards a car. The boy screamed and screamed with all his might, hoping that maybe this was just some nightmare and his mother was truly all right. He would wake up right? He would, yes?

No, he would not.

“OKAA-SAN!!”

--*--

Tora awoke instantly. He could feel the sweat on his brow, his breathing was heavy. He had been dreaming. Well, not dreaming per se, but it was something. He looked around to see that he was not home but rather in a hospital bed. Now feeling a headache coming on he grabbed his head as he tried to relax himself.

Tora lifted his head and looked around the room again. He remembered sitting on the bench. He probably passed out and was carried to a room. Not caring at the moment he tried to remember why he was here in the first place. ‘Oh yeah…Saga’s mother fainted and…’

Tora stopped himself as he realized he remembered. The recollection he just had of what happened that day. The day of his mother’s accident was the same day he met Saga. The small boy at the park…the one he gave his handkerchief to because he had been crying. It was all coming back now.

Since he blocked out that day, he remembered nothing from it. That was why he could never find that handkerchief, why he could never remember what he did with it, and why he could not remember Saga. Tora leaned back into the bed he was on for a moment as he wondered what to do now.

“Amano-san?” Tora straightened himself when he heard a man’s voice.

Tora was surprised to see Saga’s father walk in, closing the door behind him, “Oh good, you’re awake. You gave everyone a shock.”

Tora bowed his head, “Gomen nasai. I do not know what came over me.”

The man grabbed a chair and scooted it near Tora’s bed so that he was facing the young man. He took a seat and bowed a bit at the other. Tora wondered just what this man was up to. Why was he, of all people, checking how his condition was? Staying silent he observed the other.

“Amano-san, I have a favor to ask of you,” The man stated.

Tora raised a brow. So the old man was up to something. Why were fathers always that way; Sneaky and always planning behind the shadows? Tora did not like that. But since Saga’s father has never proved to be a rude person towards Saga, he decided to just listen. He waited for the man to continue his statement.

“I would like to ask you, only if you can, to watch over Saga a bit longer,” Saga’s father stated with tired, yet pleading eyes.

~End of chapter 11~

Pickled plums1 – I really have no idea what these are. I have no idea if they are good for you like I stated and I do not know whether they taste good or gross. I actually just hijacked it off from an interview of Kamenashi Kazuya from KAT-TUN where he says he does not like them. If you are interested, watch it here. It is towards the end.

A/N: Okay, this was actually going to me much longer. I decided to leave it here, however, so you guys can wonder exactly why Saga’s father wants his son to stay with Tora rather than be at his mother’s side. ;D

And yes! Finally we know why Tora forgot about Saga. He also now remembers him, yay! While I was writing the part where little!Tora sees his mother in the bag, the song “Pride” by Ayumi Hamasaki was playing. I started crying because the melody to the song is actually really sad…and this was a sad moment. It was hard for me. ;o;

The next chapter is being written out. I have lots of homework this weekend to do though so don’t expect it until maybe…sometime throughout the week. =) Still, I hope you guys enjoyed this one. It did answer a lot of questions. ;D

The Tiger and the Butterfly

The sun’s rays shined into Tora’s room, willing the boy to wake up. Tora struggled at first as he groaned under his blankets. He moved around before beginning to remove the blanket from his body. His eyes squinted as the sun blinded him for a moment. As instinct, Tora used his arm to shield the light as he turned his body so that he was now sitting at the end of his bed.

His back was to the window, causing him to put his arm down since the sun was not as intense anymore. Taking a few minutes to get used to the light and wake up he eventually stood up and walked lazily towards his bathroom. He shut the door behind him before reaching into the shower and turning the knob.

The water began to flow, the temperature still too cold. He adjusted the knob before closing the shower door. He began to strip out of his clothes one by one as he waited for the water to warm up a bit. In about two minutes he was inside the shower, the warm water falling onto his skin and soothing his muscles. Tora’s eyes were closed as he just basked in the blissful moment.

His mind began to wander. It had already been three whole days that Saga had been staying at his home. He only had four more days and then he’d leave. Releasing a long sigh he wondered if this whole plan was going to work. He already discussed the plan with his father and he, of course, was not pleased with it.

Tora was surprised, however, that his father agreed to go along with it. Usually there was a long verbal battle before he actually accepted. This time they just exchanged a few words and that was it. He had agreed that if Saga lasted until the end of the week then his town would not get destroyed and they would build their homes or whatever somewhere else.

Tora was still suspicious though. His father never gave in that easily. He had a feeling something was up, but he was clueless as to what. Deciding to check into it later, he turned the shower knob to turn off the water. The dark haired man stepped out of his shower, reaching for the closest towel that hung on the wall.

He wrapped it around the lower part of his body as he began to get himself ready for class. He had an early class today which he was not looking forward to. Still, he pushed himself to get ready. It was already past 7am so he knew that Saga would be long gone. Tora still was unsure how anyone could wake up as early as he did.

“Whatever,” Tora said to himself, “Not like I’m ever going to try it.”

It took Tora about an hour to do his hair, make-up, and get dressed. Once he was ready he grabbed his cell phone and school bag before descending the stairs. Kana was in the kitchen when Tora arrived there, making breakfast and whatnot. Their eyes met and the elder woman offered a warm smile which Tora somewhat returned.

“Ohayougozaimasu Amano-san,” Kana greeted as she put the food onto a plate.

Tora just bowed in response. He sat down at his usual spot at the table and picked up a book he found. Looking through it he noticed it was probably something left behind by Saga. Perhaps something they had to read for class. He ignored it, placing it down before releasing a long sigh.

“What time did he leave?” Tora asked, knowing that Kana would know who he was talking about.

“He left in a rush. He slept in apparently,” Kana chuckled, “It was almost 7am when he came rushing down the stairs, grabbed a piece of toast and zoomed out the door.”

Tora rolled his eyes. Why was he not surprised that Saga would freak out over being late? He just seemed like the perfect student. Tora stood up straight when Kana put a plate down in front of him. He thanked her before grabbing some chopsticks and muttering an ‘itadakimasu’ before he started eating.

~*~

The bell made its final ring the moment Saga barged through the door. He thanked the gods that he made it, releasing a long sigh as he wandered towards his desk. Hiroto and Nao were already at their desks and staring at their friend with utter shock.

“Don’t say a word,” Saga stated as their homeroom teacher came in. Saga immediately took his seat.

After their homeroom teacher made a few announcements he excused everyone for their free period. Saga loved that about Wednesdays. They had a free period after their homeroom where they could use the hour and a half to study, eat, chill, or whatever. Just as long as they did not go off campus, they had the freedom.

Saga groaned to himself which triggered his friends to turn towards him. Nao was surprised when he arrived to school and did not see Saga anywhere. Then when Hiroto arrived they had really gotten worried. Never had Saga been late. And never had he arrived any later than 7am.

“So…what took you?” Nao asked, breaking the silence.

Hiroto nodded, “Yeah. This is definitely not normal for you.”

Saga waved a hand to his friends, signaling them to stop bugging him. He then used that same hand to run it through his hair as he heaved a long sigh, “I do not know why I’m here late. I just woke up and it was 6:30am. I could not believe it. So I rushed to take a shower, barely did my hair, and ran over here. Well…ran to the train station. But then I ran here too.”

“That would explain why you look like shit,” Nao stated.

“Yes,” Saga replied, “It does.”

It was then they heard the sound of girls giggling and getting excited. They turned to see Shou walking into the classroom and towards them. Hiroto smiled happily at the other as he sat down next to them. The boy cuddled closer towards his boyfriend, which only made Shou ruffle his hair a bit.

“So how are my little kouhais?” Shou questioned as his eyes glided over the others.

Nao pointed a finger towards Saga, “He was late for the first time ever.”

“I was not late! The bell rang the moment I stepped in the door,” Saga corrected his friend.

The other three laughed in unison. Saga grumbled a bit before averting his gaze to look outside. Shou, Hiroto, and Nao then began talking about other topics while Saga just stared at nothing in particular. He only had four more days to live with Tora. He wondered if they would be worth it. Since he started living here, he’s barely had to do anything for the dark-haired enigma.

His job was almost too easy. He knew, however, that meant Tora had to be planning something. Perhaps Tora would start driving him insane in the last few days he would be staying at his house. Saga just knew he had to be prepared for it. He would not lose his home to that man.

~*~

Tora finished the last of his food at around 8:15am. He bowed in thanks before picking up the empty plate and taking it to the sink where Kana was working on packing Tora’s lunch. Tora stifled a yawn as he let his head rest on the palm of his hand while he watched the woman.

She chuckled at his tired expression, “You really hate morning, Amano-san.”

Tora just nodded as he closed his eyes, hoping perhaps he could take a small nap. It was then he jumped from hearing the sudden ringing of a phone. But it wasn’t the house phone. Tora raised a brow and looked towards his phone but that was not it. He looked around as well as Kana as they tried to look for the origin of the sound.

Tora walked to where he could hear it. He shuffled around the dining table until he scooted open a chair to see a phone there glowing and buzzing. Tora looked down and read the words ‘father’ flashing on the screen.

‘Baka! This must be his phone. He probably forgot it since he was in such a hurry…’ Tora thought to himself.

Tora thought it was best to answer the call. If it was his father it was probably something important. Tora lifted the phone and answered it, putting it to his ear.

“Moshi moshi?” Tora began as he listened to the man on the other line, “Ah no…this is Amano…I think he forgot his phone. He was in a hurry this morning…ah hai. Uh huh…?”

Tora froze. His expression read that of disbelief. He closed his eyes as he swallowed a lump that had formed in his throat before letting his head slump down a bit. He nodded, offering a few more hai’s and ah’s to the other. Tora then walked towards an area that had a small notepad, grabbed a pen and began to write down some information. After a full five minutes, Tora nodded once again.

“I’ll go get him right now,” Tora stated. He then said his goodbye to Saga’s father before hanging up the phone.

There was an awkward silence in the room now. Tora heaved a long sigh as he looked down at the information he had written down. Kana only watched her master as she waited for some kind of explanation. The dark haired boy looked up at the woman before walking towards her.

“Saga’s mother fainted,” Tora began, “She’s in the hospital.”

~*~

Saga pouted as he rummaged through his backpack. He was searching for his cell phone because he wanted to call his parents to see what they were up to. He could not find it though and wondered what could have happened to the device. Nao had offered his but he only shrugged it off saying it was not a big deal if he could not call them.

Instead he placed his bag back down and took out a notebook with one of their textbooks. Since there was nothing else to do, he decided to do homework. The other three just continued to chat about nothing in particular. Saga zoned in and out with the conversations but he really did not feel in the social mode at the moment.

He was actually wondering in his mind just what Tora would have planned for him for the next four days. Saga was not looking forward to it either way. Still, he wondered if Tora really was the one he had met those years ago. He certainly did not act the same way. At least, he did not in public. Saga supposed he’d never truly find out since Tora obviously did not remember him at all.

“Oh my gosh,” came a girl’s voice from the front of the room.

This triggered more gasps and giggles. Saga rolled his eyes not wanting to pay attention to whatever guy just walked through the door. Saga always got annoyed when the girls started swooning over older good looking guys that stepped into their classroom. What was the point?

“Is Takashi Sakamoto here?” came an all too familiar voice.

Saga’s eyes went wide. He turned to see Tora at the door of their class room talking to a few classmates. The boy looked at his friends who could not believe their eyes as well. ‘What the hell!? Why is he at my school?’

It was at that moment his classmates pointed behind them and to Saga which made the boy curse to himself. He glared towards Tora as the dark haired man walked towards their group. Tora greeted Shou and Saga’s friends before looking at the other. But before Tora had a chance to say anything, Saga offered him a few words.

“What the hell are you doing here? This is my school, go away!” Saga yelled.

Tora knew something like this would unfold, “There was an emergency.”

At that statement Saga raised a brow, watching as Tora dug trough his own pockets. He brought out Saga’s phone before him. He handed it to the boy as Saga just stared with confusion, “I can last the day without my phone. Why drive all the way here to deliver it to me?”

“That’s not the emergency,” Tora continued, “Your father called you on there and—”

“You answered my phone? What the hell, Tora!?” Saga complained, “You have no respect for people’s privacy do you?”

Tora raised a brow at the other, “Are you yelling at me?”

Saga shut himself up then and there. He heaved a sigh before playing with his phone for a bit. He then glanced at the other, “Why did you answer the phone?”

“Saga, listen. You can yell at me all you want later,” Tora stated before grabbing Saga’s wrist. This earned a gasp from Hiroto and Nao and questioning glances from the rest of his classroom.

Saga started wide eyed at the other, wondering what the hell he was doing. It was then Tora started dragging Saga towards the door. Saga struggled as he tried to fight free from Tora’s grasp. He cursed and yelled at the other also smacking him a bit from behind. It was not until they were in the hallway did Tora let go as he turned to look at the other.

“What the fuck!?” Saga yelled in anger, “What are you doing? Are you in—?”

“Your mother is in the hospital,” Tora finally said.

And in one whole minute Saga stared at the other, took in the information, and then he was off. Running towards the exit of the school, all he could think about was how stupid he was.

~*~

The Devil and the Angel

Aoi was already in his class when he received a text from Tora saying he would be late. Apparently, something happened with Saga’s mother and he had to take Saga to the hospital from his school. Aoi just told him to go ahead and skip and he’d give him the homework. He leaned back in his spot as he watched people begin to wander into the class room.

Class did not start for another ten minutes but Aoi sometimes just came here to finish last minute homework and what not. He was almost done with questions he had to answer when he felt a tap on the back of his arm.

His teeth clenched. He really hoped it wasn’t that girl that kept fawning over him every class period. Restraining himself from yelling and putting on a fake smile he turned around to see…not who had expected. His eyes became wide and he stood up instantly.

“Ruki?” Aoi questioned just to make sure it was, indeed, his friend from his hometown.

Ruki removed his sunglasses and offered a nod. Aoi was not surprised to see Reita here as well. Wherever Ruki was Reita was right there with him. He offered a small hug to his friends before offering them to sit down with him. No one had to know they were not in the class. Plus, the lecture room they were in today was so huge he doubted the professor would ever notice them.

“What are you guys doing here?” Aoi asked his two friends.

Ruki patted Aoi on the shoulder, “What are you talking about? We wanted to see how our best friend was.”

“Yeah right,” Aoi stated, “You just wanted to skip class huh?”

Ruki then let his eyes wandered with an obvious not-so-innocent expression. Aoi knew he had guessed right. Ruki disliked school but his parents told him he had to go to school in order to live with them and inherit everything they have. ‘We will not give this house and money to a son that is not educated,’ they had said.

Reita no longer attended school and his parents did not care. As long as the guy made money and did not ask them for it, they would be happy. So far, Reita was doing pretty damn good job of it. Aoi kept in touch with his two friends via email and talking on the phone, but it had been awhile since they’ve seen each other.

“So, I found your club,” Ruki announced.

Aoi offered a surprised expression, “Really? When?”

“Yesterday,” Ruki replied, “I met your co-worker there…Tora is it? He said you had just left.”

Aoi chuckled to himself. That would be the second time someone ran into Tora asking where he was. Tora would probably snap at the next person that tried to look for him, then make fun of him for ‘being so popular’. Tora and Aoi had the personalities to be unsociable people, and they both knew that. They both knew they were probably the troublemakers in their schools. It was probably why they got along so well.

“Have you seen Uru-chan yet?” Ruki asked out of nowhere.

Aoi snapped back to reality when he heard the boy’s name, “Eh? Ah yes…I have.”

Ruki read Aoi’s expression easily. Yes, they have met, but they’ve probably done more than that as well. He could not believe that Aoi had tainted the boy so young. Ruki offered a small laugh as he gently smacked Aoi on the back of the head, earning an ‘ow!’ from the other.

“You two had sex already, huh?” Ruki asked his friend even though he already knew the answer.

Aoi stayed silent before leaning back in his chair, turning his head to the side and crossing his arms over his chest. Ruki rolled his eyes as he smirked at Reita who just snorted at their friend’s actions.

It was already 8:30 and free period would be over in half an hour. Uruha had spent most of free time doing some homework he had to catch up on. At the moment, he was going down the stairs towards the second year’s floor to find his class mate. Kohara, whom had told him to call him Shou but refused, asked him to come and retrieve when it was close to the start of their next class.

He had not been through the entire second floor before though, unless it was to get to some stairs to go up. He remembered Kohara mentioned class 2-B though. He had finally found the class earning a few bows from students outside the classroom. Sometimes, he liked being a senpai and earning respect. Other times it just annoyed him.

“Ano—is another senpai in this room?” Uruha decided to ask one of the male students outside. Asking the female ones would just earn him stares and giggles, plus a lot of stuttering which he did not want.

The boy and his friend nodded, “Hai. Shou-senpai is with Pon, his boyfriend.”

Uruha was a bit surprised to hear this. Especially since Kohara never mentioned dating someone, let alone a boy. And these guys were acting casual too like it was no big deal. Well, in all sense it wasn’t, but still…two boys dating each other would cause a lot of gossip and discrimination where he was from. Perhaps the schools here were just different.

He thanked the two with a small bow of his head before walking into the room. As he predicted, girls gasped and giggled. He heard someone to the side mutter something about ‘all these bishounen coming into their classroom today’ but just ignored it. He let his eyes scan around the room until his eyes met with the back of his classmates head.

Uruha casually walked towards the small group of boys sitting together. All their eyes moved up to him and Shou just smiled, “Ah, Uruha! Is it time to go already?”

“You have about 25 minutes,” Uruha stated.

“Maa! I should call Saga, he still hasn’t come back in the classroom,” Hiroto realized as he took out his phone.

“Tora-san said it was an emergency,” Shou reminded Hiroto.

Uruha raised a brow when Shou said that name. It sounded familiar. Where had he heard it? He began to think for a bit. It was then he remembered it was the name of Aoi’s friend from the club, the one he met and asked about Aoi. How did Shou know him?

“For that guy an emergency could be his shoes were not tied right!” Hiroto exclaimed, “He probably dragged poor Saga out of class to do something useless!”

Shou chuckled at his boyfriend. He then leaned in and pecked the boy on the lips which caused Uruha to flush a bit. They really were open with their relationship. Uruha looked around the room to see if anyone was staring or anything but there was no one. He was certainly not used to this.

“Okay well, I’m going to head to my next class with Uruha,” Shou stated as he stood up.

Hiroto pouted as he looked up at his boyfriend, “But you still have twenty minutes! Stay a bit longer!”

“Hiroto, you’re acting like you don’t see him at all,” Nao said with a chuckle.

The small boy stuck his tongue out at the other. Uruha laughed a bit to himself at their actions. Uruha watched as Shou then leaned down and kissed Hiroto gently, like the way a lover does. The way Aoi does to him. Would this have been what it was like if he attended school here with his lover? It would have been an easier life.

“Hey, after class, why not go to club ALICE for a bit?” Shou asked the others.

Uruha almost fell over nothing as he heard the name of Aoi’s workplace. He looked up as the other’s offered a nod, “Sure! I’m up for that. We can drag Saga along once we find out what the huge emergency was.”

Nao nodded, “Yeah, he’ll probably be all pissed with Tora and want to vent to us.”

“All right,” Shou chuckled before kissing Hiroto again, “See you guys after school then. Bye.”

Uruha bowed and offered a wave as well before turning to walk out with Shou. As they walked down the hall the boy glanced over at his taller classmate. Shou knew Tora and also knew the place they worked at. He could not help it, he was curious.

“How do you know Tora-san?” He asked as they began to go up the stairs.

“Tora-san? He works at club ALICE where I sing on Friday night,” Shou answered.

“Eh!? You do live entertainment there?” Uruha asked, “You sing?”

Shou chortled at the other’s reaction, “Well I like to sing. It does not mean I’m all that great.”

Uruha frowned a bit as he glanced to the side. He did not mean to sound rude but he could not help but question it. Shou definitely did not seem the type that would sing, since his regular voice itself was so deep. He wondered what his classmate sounded like though.

“Would you like to join us tonight?” Shou questioned, breaking Uruha from his thoughts.

“Eh?” Uruha looked over at the other.

They had reached the top of the stairs and Shou stopped for a moment, “Would you like to join us? Who knows? I might get told to sing.”

Uruha wondered if Aoi would be working tonight. Well, this morning he did not get to talk to the other. Aoi was still sleeping when he woke up so Uruha just went to get ready for class and left without a goodbye. He did not want to wake his lover.

“Sure…” Uruha began, “I’ll go with you guys.

Hello my readers!

Can you believe I'm at chapter 10 already with Blue Butterfly? I'm already typing up chapter 11. I really hope you guys are enjoying it! >w< Chapter 11 is one I know you are all waiting for. Tora is going to finally remember a certain someone and you will all find out WHY he forgot that day in the first place. So look forward to it ne? ^o^

Also, later chapters will get intense. As of right now, there isn't anything too bad...but I do have a rape scene planned out in my head. I'm not going to say WHO it is, but it will happen. It's something that ties in with another part of the plot that I've already touched upon. But just barely. In fact, you all might not even think it's relevant, but it is. So if you have anything against that...let me know and I'll see if I can maybe work around it. Maybe write one version with it and one without? I dunno.

Lastly, I've started brainstorming an idea for another fic. It involves some members being high school students and others...being hosts? YES, A HOST CLUB. Come on, you know you'd love to imagine THAT. xDD I don't know if this idea will go all out, but...we will see lol.
